Three finished St. Basil's Cathedral paintings. My 4th grade students worked SOO hard on these!! They spent at least 4 weeks finishing these! I am so proud of the final results! My student's felt such a sense of pride in their work after seeing the final results!
I am having a lot of fun checking out your blog. I've never seen it before! I especially love the books you've found to accompany the projects. I will be on amazon.com for a few of them. I've always wanted to study the architecture of Moscow but I wasn't sure how to present it to the students. I love the books it would be a good introduction. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteThanks!! My local library website is my best friend when searching for ways to introduce my students to a new subject matter or country! The book ''Max moves to Moscow'' is absolutely perfect for introducing Moscow! The illustrations are water color painted too so the students really get an idea how to paint. There was a very high success rate with this project. The students complained at first how hard it was but then really got into it and were soo excited with the results!!

ReplyDeleteI love it when they complain about the difficulty and then they love their finished projects. What a great way to experience the benefits of perseverance. Glad you found me by the way, and mighty happy to have found you as well! I have a lofty goal of getting back into regular blogging, but a busy homeschool schedule, coupled with teaching art classes and a 12 month old in the house are proving an insurmountable challenge right now. Someday when I actually get more than 5 hours of sleep on a consistent basis, I may be up to it. In the meantime it sure is awesome to see what all my art teacher kin are doing!
