'Snow'

5th Grade students created 'glowing' snowflakes inspired by the book 'Snow'. The illustrations in this children's book are amazing and were a great inspiration for these pieces of art work.

The students used white, light blue, blue, peach, and purple chalk pastels to create these snowflakes on black paper.  They were required to blend atleast three different colors of chalk including white. We talked about making their compositions interesting by how they placed them on the page.

Thank you! I read the book to my 3rd graders also and they filled a page with all different snowflakes on blue paper. That turned out great too!
