Matryoshka

3rd grade finished Matryoshka dolls

I read the book '' The littlest Matryoshka doll'' to my 3rd grade students.  They then used a tracer to trace their dolls.  I made a girl example and boy example. (I love this little guys bow tie!) They then added facial features, shaw arms and belly. They were required to create three different patterns in the shaw, arms and belly. They used construction paper crayons, glitter and metallic crayons to color in their designs. We then used watercolor paints to fill in the large empty space. Students will then cut these out and we will display them in the hallway! Those photo's to come soon! :)

I love the sun and rays on this matryoshka's belly!

I love her hair bow!
